Alabama cardiology practice names new president

The Huntsville Hospital Heart Center, the largest cardiology practice in Northern Alabama, recently named a new president.

Joshua Hewiett, a Florida native, assumed the role July 1, replacing Larry Johnston, who served as the Heart Center CEO for 14 years.

Hewiett has served as the heart center’s director of cardiology services since 2013. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Florida and an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

"I am thrilled to work more closely with our talented leadership and physician team," he said in a statement. "Heart Center and Huntsville Hospital have long provided excellent cardiothoracic care in North Alabama."
