New Orleans cardiologist files lawsuit against hospital, alleges civil rights violations
A cardiologist in New Orleans filed a lawsuit against a hospital and parish alleging they violated his civil rights, the Louisiana Record reports.
Bahram Zamanian, MD, filed the complaint on Feb. 7 against Jefferson Parish Hospital Service District No. 2 and the parish of Jefferson. Zamanian alleged that he lost his privileges to Jefferson General Hospital, which hurt his ability to practice medicine and support his family.
The complaint mentions that Zamanian had his privileges suspended Feb. 16, 2011, because he failed to comply with bylaws. Zamanian alleged that the hospital and parish violated the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
