Ohio-based startup plans on hiring 24 cardiologists to provide 24/7 service to hospitals

CardioSolutions, a startup company near Cincinnati, plans on hiring two dozen cardiologists to provide around-the-clock cardiac care for regional hospitals, the Cincinnati Business Courier reports.

As of now, CardioSolutions has a staff of 16 at its headquarters in Blue Ash, Ohio, and 50 employees in other locations, according to the newspaper. The company currently employs 40 physicians and partners with 11 hospitals.

Mike Vanderwoude, president of CardioSolutions, told the Cincinnati Business Courier that the company plans on having two physicians rotate seven days on and seven days off and cover the hospital for 24 hours. They will also have an additional four to five licensed physicians at the hospital.

“The core of the value of what we’re offering is a 24/7 guarantee,” Vanderwoude said. “We’re responsible for covering 24 hours a day. For a hospital to have enough staff and backup to do that is very difficult.”
