Medtronic announces new AI partnership focused on improving TAVR care
Medtronic is partnering with Ohio-based DASI Simulations to bring advanced artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) programs throughout the United States.
Through this partnership, a variety of U.S. TAVR programs will gain access to DASI Simulations’ AI-based predictive modeling and digital twin technologies. Participating care teams will receive support as needed from both Medtronic and DASI Simulations.
DASI Simulations is the company behind PrecisionTAVI and DASI Dimensions, two FDA-approved AI offerings designed to help care teams plan ahead of TAVR and other structural heart procedures. The programs turn patient data, including imaging results, to simulate multiple valve deployment scenarios. Those findings are then converted into device-agnostic recommendations that can help guide important treatment decisions.
“Partnering with Medtronic accelerates our mission to bring scalable, AI-powered planning tools to structural heart programs nationwide,” Teri Sirset, MS, founder, president and CEO of DASI Simulations, said in a prepared statement. “Together, we’re demonstrating how predictive modeling can drive operational efficiency, support clinical decision-making, and elevate the standard of care. This collaboration reflects the growing demand for data-driven solutions that empower heart teams to deliver more confident, personalized treatment decisions.”
“The future of TAVR lies in delivering patient-specific, data-driven care that spans the full patient journey, from therapy awareness and innovation to procedural excellence and options for future intervention,” added Jorie Soskin, vice president and general manager of Medtronic’s structural heart business. “Our partnership highlights our commitment to lead this future, allowing heart teams to utilize AI driven pre-procedural planning to enhance patient outcomes, streamline workflow, and support patient-specific valve selection.”
