KLAS survey: 45% pondering CVIS consolidation
One third of cardiology departments have consolidated their cardiovascular information system (CVIS) vendors and 45 percent plan to do so, according to a recent survey.
KLAS research surveyed providers who use at least two structured reporting modules about their consolidation plans. The survey addressed topics such as core reporting areas, workflow functionality, remote access and consolidation of structured reporting.
A total of 117 providers answered the question about plans to consolidate their cardiology solutions. Of those, 33 percent had already consolidated; 22 percent had no plans to consolidate; 21 percent planned to consolidate and would consider their current vendor; 18 percent planned to consolidate but would not consider their current vendor; and 6 percent planned to consolidate but were up in the air about vendors.
Based on survey responses from 392 providers, the KLAS report named Merge Healthcare the leader for overall performance. Other vendors included in the analysis were Philips, Siemens, Agfa HealthCare, Digisonics, Epic, Fujifilm, GE Healthcare, INFINITT, LUMEDX, McKesson and Wolters Kluwer.
