Cardiologist arrested on suspicion of murder after multiple deaths

A cardiologist has been arrested in Germany after being involved in four cases that ended in a suspicious death. In two of those cases, officials believe they have clear evidence that the doctor knowingly administered high doses of a sedative to a severely ill patient, resulting in their death.

According to a report from Reuters, the 55-year-old cardiologist was suspended from Charité Hospital in Berlin in August 2022. Authorities have reportedly been watching the doctor, but lacked enough evidence to act at first. The arrest warrant was issued once officials received medical reports detailing the high doses.

The cardiologist’s name has not been made public at this time.
