ScImage to Launch PicomSentry at ACC

Los Altos, CA – March 31, 2016:ScImage will launch PicomSentry, a preconfigured appliance that enables users to utilize ScImage’s PICOM365 Enterprise PACS with plug and play convenience, at the upcoming ACC.16, the 65th Annual Scientific Session & Expo of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), April 2-4, 2016 in Chicago. (Booth 20076)

Once connected to the customer’s internal network, PicomSentry can be remotely configured by ScImage’s technical implementation team and replaces traditional server or gateway hardware.  Enabling the secure acquisition and transfer of DICOM and non-DICOM objects, patient studies, reports and HL7 messaging can be securely transferred to and from Picom365 Cloud PACS and the local site using PicomSentry.  Offering efficient interoperability for tele-cardiology reading capabilities, PicomSentry supports all diagnostic disciplines including Echo, Obstetrics, Orthopedics, ECG, Vascular, Radiology, and other ‘ologies.

Committed to supporting essential security and privacy protocols to help customers protect their data from unauthorized access, ScImage employs a variety of security technologies and procedures.  ScImage utilizes secure proprietary communication protocols and data transferred to and from PicomCloud is secured with AES 1024 bit encryption. Additionally, PicomSentry is protected with BitLocker hard drive encryption to prevent the data from being compromised if the device is lost or stolen.

An innovative leader for more than 20 years, ScImage provides a flexible, extendable, and scalable architecture that delivers true interoperability and expedites critical medical decisions. Integrating ScImage’s flexible PICOM365 architecture, which can accommodate all imaging specialties, providing image review, reporting and delivery within a common framework, expands the capabilities of EHR platforms.

“PicomSentry is a miniature security appliance for the Picom365 Cloud PACS infrastructure, designed to help small to medium practices with limited IT resources by removing the need for customers to supply and configure hardware.   Providing full PACS functionality, PicomSentry gives plug and play access to an image enabled EMR to safely manage imaging procedures and provide efficient diagnostic reporting and report dissemination.  PicomSentry can also be used in a secure hospital environment to simplify the process of posting studies to Picom365 for image sharing and archiving,” said ScImage’s founder, Sai Raya, PhD.
