West Virginia hospital settles 85 heart stent cases
Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, West Virginia, has reached a settlement in dozens of cases that involved a doctor giving unwarranted heart procedures, reports WVVA, an NBC affiliate.
The lawsuits began when an internal review of the hospital was completed in 2015. It revealed 85 cases in which a patient’s condition did not warrant the placement of a heart stent.
The physician, D. Kenneth Glaser, MD, is no longer practicing at the hospital.
