An alternative to traditional RF and now cryo ablation technologies is the HeartLight X3 laser ablation system. It enables fast procedures and direction visualization without fluoro for pulmonary vein isolation (PVI). A camera inside helps guide the device into the pulmonary vein. The pear-shaped balloon seats in the ostium of the veins and a laser is activated to make a loop around the vessel. The operator can use the camera to visualize the lesion they created on the vessel wall.
