The 50 best hospitals in the world for cardiac surgery

The world’s five best hospitals for cardiac surgery are all located in the United States, according to a new global ranking published by Newsweek. Mayo Clinic came in at No. 1, followed by Cleveland Clinic at No. 2; these were also the top two entries in a similar ranking of the world’s best hospitals for cardiology.

The 2024 World’s Best Specialized Hospitals represent a collaboration between Newsweek and Statista, a data and business intelligence platform based out of Germany. The rankings, based on survey data from more than 30 countries, cover 12 different specialties: cardiology, cardiac surgery, oncology, pediatrics, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology, urology and obstetrics and gynecology.

“We hope that this ranking is helpful for you when seeking information about the right hospital for yourself or a loved one,” Nancy Cooper, Newsweek’s global editor in chief, said in her introduction to the rankings.
