Judge finds Virginia cardiologist not guilty of misdemeanor assault and battery charge
Zia Roshandel, MD, a cardiologist from Virginia, was found not guilty of a misdemeanor assault and battery charge, the Culpeper Star-Exponent reports.
In February, authorities charged Zoshandel after he allegedly hit Irene D’Gama on D’Gama’s shoulder following what she described as an argument in her office. Zoshandel works at Blue Ridge Cardiovascular Associates, while D’Gama is the nursing director and director of surgical services at Novant Health UVa Health System Culpeper Medical Center.
The newspaper reported that the judge also dismissed the preliminary protective order that D’Gama filed against Roshandel.
