Sorin, CardioMedical to distribute cardiac surgery devices
The Sorin Group has entered into a distribution agreement with CardioMedical to distribute the Cardio Vision minimally invasive heart valve surgery (MIS) product portfolio of cardiac surgery devices.
The Cardio Vision products include the third generation of tubular shaft instruments and also retractors, clamps, forceps, scissors and needle holders, which were developed with assistance from cardiac surgeons, Milan-based Sorin said.
According to Davide Bianchi, president of the Sorin Heart Valves business unit, the Cardio Vision portfolio will work in conjunction with Sorin’s heart valve technology, annuloplasty rings and Perceval S, a self-expanding surgical, sutureless valve.
According to Sorin, the agreement became effective May 1.
