The world’s best heart hospitals: New list includes many from United States
Newsweek has shared its 2027 list of the world’s top specialized hospitals. The report ranked hospitals in several categories, including cardiology, cardiac surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, nephrology, neurology, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, pulmonology and urology.
Cleveland Clinic sits at the top of the cardiology ranking alongside several other U.S. facilities. In fact, eight of the top 10 and nine of the top 20 are all located in the United States.
“Cleveland Clinic’s continued recognition as one of the world’s best specialized hospitals is a reflection of our focus on quality, safety and service to patients,” Tom Mihaljevic, MD, CEO, president and Morton L. Mandel CEO Chair of Cleveland Clinic, said in a statement. “Our caregivers are committed to providing the highest quality care, often treating the most complex, critically ill patients who require advanced specialty expertise.”
How were these rankings created?
Newsweek partnered with Statista to develop this latest round of rankings, focusing on three primary factors: reputation, accreditation and patient-reported outcome measures. Reputation, determined by an in-depth survey, played the biggest role in determining where in the rankings a facility may land. Newsweek and Statista consulted a group of experts from all over the world when fine-tuning its processes.
