Baystate cardiologist works with patients to improve lifestyles, heart health
Amir S. Lotfi, MD, a cardiologist at Baystate Health in Springfield, Massachusetts, has a unique approach to treating his patients, one that includes getting to know them, reports Mass Live.
Lotfi is the medical director for the inpatient heart and vascular program, and he focuses on building what he calls “partnerships” with patients to help them live healthier lives. He gets to know his patients beyond their medical information and advises them on dietary and exercise habits that can improve their overall health.
"You can't just say, Amir, you had a heart attack. Here are five pills, go home. That does not really address the bigger question,” Lotfi said.
