Covidien

Covidien’s (Booth 315) Imaging Solutions business is featuring a variety of offerings for the cardiac catheterization lab.

In the cath lab, physicians utilize contrast media, power injectors and steerable guide wires to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Covidien markets Ultraject prefilled syringes and Angiomat Illumena power injectors, as well as the Wholey Hi-Torque brand of steerable guide wires.

The Wholey family of guide wires combines support and flexibility with 1:1 torque control. For example, the Wholey Hi-Torque Modified JTM offers a solution designed to combine support and flexibility when accessing complex or tortuous anatomy. Its pre-shaped flexible tip (120 degrees) enhances steerability; 1:1 torque results in manipulation; and its gold tip provides better radiographic visualization.

Eleven medical societies have signed on to a consensus statement aimed at standardizing imaging for suspected cardiovascular infections.
