Limiting salt is a common recommendation for patients hoping to improve their heart health or lose weight. According to a new analysis of more than 1,700 patients, however, going too far with such restrictions can lead to worse outcomes.
These findings come from a new report on recruiting incentives among U.S. physicians and advanced practitioners. Interventional cardiologists earn the second highest starting salary of any specialty, with non-invasive cardiologists not far behind.

The study's authors explored data from 35 patients who received the TricValve Transcatheter Bicaval Valves System. All patients presented with severe tricuspid regurgitation.

“Robotically assisted mitral valve surgery allows us to make even smaller incisions with greater precision,” one surgeon said. “By using the robotic arms, we have more degrees of articulation than with our natural wrists."
