Private equity-backed cardiology practice adding new in-house smart lab powered by AI

MyCardiologist, a South Florida cardiology practice with nine locations and an immediate care clinic, has hired San Dimas-based Clinlab.AI to design, build and operate an in-house smart laboratory powered with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.

Clinlab.AI has built more than 200 Smart Labs for a variety of healthcare specialties, using its proprietary AI technologies to manage day-to-day lab work.

MyCardiologist, meanwhile, is a part of Cardiovascular Associates of America (CVAUSA), one of the largest private equity-backed cardiology management groups in the United States. Its clinicians offer a full range of cardiology services, including ambulatory monitoring, cath lab procedures, cardiac imaging, complex coronary interventions, transcatheter aortic valve replacement and more.

“MyCardiologist, a member of CVAUSA, is a leading cardiovascular practice, and we are proud to partner with them to build the first Smart Laboratory powered by AI in South Florida,” Abdul Hamid Halabi, CEO of Clinlab.AI, said in a statement. “AI is ushering in a new era of personalized healthcare—enabling us to embed advanced laboratory capabilities directly within cardiology practices and align more closely with their mission to deliver both preventive and acute care.”

“Building an AI-enabled laboratory within our network represents a major evolution in how we deliver cardiovascular care,” added Harry Aldrich, MD, a cardiologist with MyCardiologist. “This Smart Lab will change the patient experience—enabling faster, more precise insights and empowering our physicians to intervene earlier and more effectively. It’s a transformative step forward in preventive cardiology and wellness.”

Clinlab.AI will oversee every aspect of this new-look laboratory, working to integrate it with MyCardiologist’s clinical workflows in a way that boosts patient care and helps clinicians make faster treatment decisions. While this agreement only includes MyCardiologist for now, the company hopes to potentially branch out and work with other CVAUSA practices in the future.
